DataSecure protects and manages information
in a software-based “cryptographic
data store” which can reside on a
laptop, desktop, network drive, the web,
or a removable media. Each “cryptographic
data store” provides a catalog of
protected files. Access to the “cryptographic
data store” is only provided via strong
authentication. Files secured within the
container are unknown to the host-device
operating system. Presentation of authenticated
credentials opens the “cryptographic
data store” and allows for secure
access to the protected information.
DataSecure also offers a "collaboration" feature – where
sensitive information can be secured, obfuscated,
and transmitted over any enterprise network or
the public internet under plausible cover. Only
the intended recipient will be able to de-encrypt
the file and gain access to the sensitive information
with one or two clicks of the mouse.
Once obfuscated, the highly secure plausible
cover appears to be no different than an
ordinary file. DataSecure leaves no discernable
means of determining that sensitive information
is contained within the plausible cover.

Akoura’s implementation of “drag
and drop” encryption is the simplest
method commercially available for protecting
information. Implementing DataSecure requires
zero incremental network or security infrastructure.
Sharing of Protected Files - DataSecure allows
users to securely and easily share files over
the enterprise network or the public Internet.
Once a protected file is identified for “sharing”,
the file is encrypted within a plausible cover
with a click of the mouse. The encrypted file
is assigned a private key by the sender and can
be sent securely over the enterprise network
or the public internet using any email application
or platform.
Decoder - The recipient
of a DataSecure encrypted document will
require the DataSecure Decoder and assigned
private key. If the recipient doesn’t
have the Decoder, it can be easily downloaded
from Downloads.
